Online Pharmacy AI Visibility & GEO Readiness Report India 2026

GoVISIBLE's AI Visibility Index India 2026 | Healthcare & Pharma | Subcategory Report

About the Online Pharmacy AI Visibility & GEO Readiness Report

The Online Pharmacy AI Visibility & GEO Readiness Report benchmarks how online pharmacy brands in India are discovered, mentioned, compared and recommended across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Copilot and Perplexity. Part of GoVISIBLE's AI Visibility Index India 2026, it draws on an analysis of 1.75 million AI answers collected over 7 days, in response to category-specific, use-case and intent-driven queries measuring AI visibility, share of voice, recommendation quality, consistency, citation authority and owned-source influence.

What Does This Report Measure?

The report reflects how AI engines respond to use-case and intent-driven prompts within Online Pharmacy, for example "which online pharmacy has the best discounts on regular medicines" or "is it safe to order prescription medicines online". It does not measure generic brand awareness or market share. A brand's standing here can differ from its position on a broad "top online pharmacies in India" prompt because the prompt universe is different, not because either result is an error.

Who Is This Report For?

This report is for marketing leaders, managers, specialists, agencies and business decision-makers who want to understand how their category, brand and competitors appear and get recommended across AI search and answer platforms. It serves brand, SEO, GEO, content, digital, performance, growth, product marketing and PR teams, along with category roles such as e-pharmacy and healthcare commerce leadership.

Glossary quick-reference

Term In one line
Mention % Share of tracked AI answers in which a brand appears at all (reach).
Share of Voice (SOV) % A brand's mentions as a share of all brand mentions in the category.
GEO Quality % (Positive % + Strong %) / 2: how favorably AI talks about a brand when it appears.
Engine Favorability % The same formula applied to an AI engine: how generous its tone is once it recommends a brand.
Consistency % How reliably a brand or engine repeats across test runs.

Quadrant charts use median or rank cutoffs of the specific brand pool plotted, so different quadrant charts in this report can use different pools and cutoffs (see Section 9).

How AI-Ready Is the Online Pharmacy Market?

PharmEasy leads AI visibility in India's Online Pharmacy category at 20.7% Share of Voice (GoVISIBLE, AI Visibility Index India 2026). The category scores 64.4% on the GEO Readiness Score, a composite of visibility, quality, consistency, citation readiness and owned source influence. The weakest input is owned source influence at 6.9%, which means most of what AI cites about these brands comes from sites the brands do not control.

The gap between the visibility leader and the quality leader is the headline tension. PharmEasy is surfaced most often, while TrueMeds earns the most favorable AI representation once it appears. Visibility concentration of 88.9% shows how heavily AI attention is weighted toward a small set of brands, a pattern the next sections unpack.

GEO Readiness Score = 30% Visibility + 25% Quality + 20% Consistency + 15% Citation Readiness + 10% Owned Source Influence.

Which Online Pharmacy Brands Lead AI Visibility and Recommendation Quality?

PharmEasy is the brand AI reaches for most often in Online Pharmacy, appearing in 30.6% of tracked conversations and holding 20.7% Share of Voice. But the category's strongest recommendation quality sits with TrueMeds at 54.2% GEO Quality, 10.3pp above PharmEasy's 43.9%, on a far smaller footprint of 10.1% mention coverage and 6.8% Share of Voice. Reach and endorsement are separate contests here. Tata 1mg and Apollo 24|7 follow PharmEasy at 17.4% and 15.1% Share of Voice, and both edge it on quality at 46.3% and 47.4%. PharmEasy still leads AI Authority at 83.4%, ahead of Tata 1mg at 78.6% and Apollo 24|7 at 74.5%. NetMeds ranks fourth on Share of Voice at 13.7% but has the lowest GEO Quality among the top five brands, 37.8%, which sits 16.4pp behind TrueMeds.

GEO Quality % = (Positive % + Strong %) / 2. The GEO Quality Leader is selected only from brands meeting the minimum mention threshold.

AI Visibility vs Recommendation Quality: Where Do Brands Stand in Online Pharmacy?

Six brands have earned both reach and trust: PharmEasy, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7, TrueMeds, Amazon Pharmacy and Medstown. The biggest surprise sits in the High Noise group. NetMeds holds 13.7% Share of Voice, the fourth highest in the category, yet its 37.8% GEO Quality falls below the category's quality cutoff. AI mentions it often without speaking well of it.
Quadrant scatter plot of the ten highest Share of Voice Online Pharmacy brands against GEO Quality. PharmEasy, Tata 1mg and Apollo 24|7 sit in Leaders, NetMeds in High Noise.
Look at the right-hand side: three of the four highest-reach brands clear the quality cutoff, while NetMeds does not.

The chart plots the ten brands with the highest Share of Voice. Quadrant membership below covers all 28 tracked brands and follows the source analysis. Cutoff lines are drawn to match that membership.

Quadrant Brands
Leaders PharmEasy, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7, TrueMeds, Amazon Pharmacy, Medstown
Niche Quality PilMate, MedsRight Pharmacy, TiNova Health, Medshood, Medadock, MedUnited, SecondMedic, HealthSy
High Noise NetMeds, MedPlus Mart, Wellness Forever, Practo Pharmacy, MrMed, MediBuddy, Medkart Pharmacy, PlatinumRx
Laggards Pharmogram, Medfast, Blinkit Quick-Pharma, Farmako, Zeelab Pharmacy, Ayurkart
Leaders are the only group where reach and favorable representation reinforce each other. Niche Quality brands are recommended warmly but rarely, so their constraint is exposure rather than reputation. High Noise brands appear without winning favorable language, and Laggards register on neither measure. Distance to AI leadership is clearest for NetMeds: its GEO Quality sits 16.4pp behind the category leader, TrueMeds (37.8% vs. 54.2%).

How Concentrated Is AI Visibility in the Online Pharmacy Market?

The top five brands hold 73.7% of total visibility, leaving 26.3% for every other tracked brand. AI has already picked its favorites in Online Pharmacy. The top three alone account for 53.2%, and Share of Voice drops from 13.7% for the fourth brand to 6.8% for the fifth, so the category is effectively a four-brand shortlist with a long tail.
Donut chart showing the top 5 Online Pharmacy brands hold 73.7% of Share of Voice and all remaining brands hold 26.3%.
Look at the larger segment: nearly three quarters of AI visibility sits with five brands.
For a challenger, a concentrated market means broad visibility is expensive to win. The more realistic opening is the quality dimension, where brands outside the top five already lead.

Market Concentration % = sum of Share of Voice % for the top 5 brands. A lower value indicates a more fragmented market and stronger challenger opportunity.

Which AI Engines Matter Most for Online Pharmacy Brand Visibility?

Copilot is surfaced most often in this category's tracked conversations at 24.0% share, and it is also the most generous engine: 41.8% of its brand mentions are positive and 69.9% are strong, for an Engine Favorability of 55.9%. That is 17.6pp above ChatGPT at 38.3%. Four of the five engines sit within 1.6pp of each other on mention share, so no single engine carries the category. Perplexity is the outlier at 8.2%.
Engine Share of Recommended Brands % Positive % Negative % Strong % Engine Favorability %
Copilot 24.0% 41.8% 0.0% 69.9% 55.9%

Look at the green segment: Copilot's positive share is nearly double that of ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Negative sentiment is almost absent, at 0.2% or below on every engine. In this category the practical difference between engines is how warm the tone is, not whether AI criticizes brands.

Engine Favorability % = (Engine Positive % + Engine Strong %) / 2. It measures the tone of recommendations, not engine accuracy.

Which AI Engines Show the Most Consistent Brand Recommendations?

Google AI Mode currently provides the most stable visibility signal in this dataset, at 88.5% Engine Consistency, followed by Gemini at 74.9%. Copilot, the most favorable engine, is only 62.4% consistent, so a favorable answer there may not repeat. Perplexity is the least stable at 53.8%.
Bar chart of Engine Consistency: Google AI Mode 88.5%, Gemini 74.9%, Copilot 62.4%, ChatGPT 61.2%, Perplexity 53.8%.

Look at the two outliers: Copilot leads on favorability, Google AI Mode leads on consistency.
PharmEasy is the first-ranked brand on four of the five engines. ChatGPT is the exception, where Tata 1mg leads at 21.8% against PharmEasy's 19.5%. PharmEasy's strongest single-engine position is Perplexity, at 25.4%.

How Consistent Are AI Brand Recommendations in Online Pharmacy?

Seven brands appear in every run and rank steadily: Apollo 24|7, PharmEasy, NetMeds and Tata 1mg at 100.0%, followed by Wellness Forever at 99.1%, MedPlus Mart at 98.9% and Amazon Pharmacy at 98.3%. These are the dependable presences in AI answers for this category. A brand appearing once is not the same as a brand AI repeatedly recommends.
Bar chart of brand consistency by status: seven Stable Leaders at 98.3% or higher, TrueMeds and MrMed Consistent at 82.2% and 81.3%, Medstown Moderate at 54.7%.
Look at the sharp step down after Amazon Pharmacy: the next brand, TrueMeds, is 16.1pp lower.
The quality leader carries a caveat. TrueMeds appears in 80.0% of runs, against 100.0% for the four steadiest brands, so its 54.2% GEO Quality is a strong but less proven signal. Medstown, which appears in 60.0% of runs with 25.0% consecutive retention, should be read as lower-confidence and directional.

Which Brands Win Across Different Buyer Intents and Journeys?

PharmEasy wins every journey stage and both search intents on mention volume, but the tone of AI's language cools as buyers approach a decision. Its GEO Quality falls from 59.5% at Awareness to 42.1% at Consideration and 34.6% at Decision, a 24.9pp slide. AI speaks most warmly about PharmEasy early and least warmly at the moment of purchase.
Line chart of PharmEasy GEO Quality across journey stages: 59.5% at Awareness, 42.1% at Consideration, 34.6% at Decision.
Look at the downward slope: the winning brand's quality score drops at every stage.

Winners are determined by mention volume. The percentages shown are each winner's GEO Quality, not its share of mentions.

Informational intent PharmEasy 42.2%
Persona clusters show where the leader is exposed. PharmEasy wins five of seven clusters, while Tata 1mg wins Safety & Authenticity and Medicine Types & Availability. In Problem Resolution, PharmEasy holds 29.8% mention share but just 13.1% quality, with 0.0% positive language, the widest reach-to-trust gap of any cluster. Safety & Authenticity, arguably the most sensitive concern when buying medicines, has a winner quality of only 28.0%. Finding & Comparison is the strongest cluster at 70.2%.

Where Is the Biggest AI Visibility Opportunity in Online Pharmacy?

TiNova Health, Medshood and Medadock are the Hidden Gems. Each holds just 0.3% Share of Voice, yet their GEO Quality of 83.3%, 62.5% and 54.5% is at or above the category's quality leader. TiNova Health's 83.3% sits 39.4pp above PharmEasy's 43.9%. These brands already earn AI's trust without the reach, so the fastest lever is visibility, not credibility. Their quality scores rest on very few mentions, so treat them as directional.
Four-panel quadrant chart of the top-brand pool. Hidden Gems TiNova Health, Medshood and Medadock have high quality at 0.3% Share of Voice; NetMeds is the largest Reach Risk brand at 13.7%.
Look at the top-left: the highest quality scores in the category belong to the brands with the least visibility.

This view uses a broader brand pool than the Brand Readiness Quadrant in Section 3, so quadrant cutoffs differ. A brand's SOV and Quality values are consistent across both charts, but its quadrant placement may not be. Cutoffs here are rank-based splits of the top-brand pool.

Quadrant Labeled brands (Share of Voice, GEO Quality)
Hidden Gems TiNova Health (0.3%, 83.3%), Medshood (0.3%, 62.5%), Medadock (0.3%, 54.5%)
GEO Leaders PharmEasy (20.7%, 43.9%), Tata 1mg (17.4%, 46.3%), Apollo 24|7 (15.1%, 47.4%)
Reach Risk NetMeds (13.7%, 37.8%), MedPlus Mart (3.2%, 38.1%), Wellness Forever (1.9%, 29.1%)
Low Priority Ayurkart (0.2%, 35.0%), Zeelab Pharmacy (0.3%, 22.7%)
On the other side, NetMeds is the clearest Reach Risk. It carries enough visibility to matter and enough weak quality to cost it, which makes message quality its priority ahead of any push for more reach.

Which Sources Do AI Engines Trust When Recommending Online Pharmacy Brands?

Business websites supply 39.0% of what AI engines cite in Online Pharmacy, and eCommerce and aggregator sites add 28.4%, so two source types account for 67.4% of citations. Government and NGO sources are third at 13.6%, led by fda.gov and nih.gov. A brand's own website is only one part of its AI reputation. The information ecosystem around the brand matters just as much.
Bar chart of citation share by source category: Business Websites 39.0%, eCommerce & Aggregator Sites 28.4%, Government & NGO Sources 13.6%, News & Media 6.0%.
Look at the first two bars: they carry more than two thirds of all citations.

Business Directories & Listings 0.9% medfinder.com (16%), justdial.com (15%), mouthshut.com (15%)
Within review platforms, reddit.com alone accounts for 57% of citations, which makes community discussion the dominant comparison source for this category. Within the eCommerce and aggregator group, pharmeasy.in, 1mg.com and apollopharmacy.in lead, so pharmacy marketplace pages are a major route through which brands get cited.

Citation Source Authority = source category citations / total citations x 100.

How Dependent Is Online Pharmacy on Third-Party Sources for AI Visibility?

AI discovery in Online Pharmacy is 93.1% dependent on third-party sources, against an average owned source influence of 6.9%. Brands investing in their own site's AI-citability have real headroom. The pattern is starkest for the visibility leaders: Tata 1mg and Apollo 24|7 are the second and third most visible brands, yet only 2.0% of their citations come from their own domains. PharmEasy at 13.6% is the exception among the top four.
Bar chart of owned source influence by brand: MrMed 16.3%, Wellness Forever 13.8%, PharmEasy 13.6%, down to 0.0% for Medkart Pharmacy and Practo Pharmacy.
Look at the bottom of the chart: Tata 1mg and Apollo 24|7 sit at 2.0% despite their high visibility.
Engines also differ in how deeply they cite. ChatGPT averages 16.5 citations per prompt, roughly four times Copilot's 4.1, and Perplexity is the most reliant on outside sources at 95.9% third-party dependency. Owned source influence is estimated from domain and brand-name matching, so read it as a directional signal.
Engine Avg Citations / Prompt Citation Share % Third-Party Dependency %
ChatGPT 16.5 36.5% 89.9%
Copilot 4.1 9.1% 86.3%
Gemini 5.1 11.3% 88.1%
Google AI Mode 9.4 20.8% 90.2%
Perplexity 10.1 22.2% 95.9%

MrMed 16.3% 83.7%
Practo Pharmacy 0.0% 100.0%
Medkart Pharmacy 0.0% 100.0%

Owned Source Influence % = brand own-domain citations / brand total citations x 100. Brand-domain matching is estimated from citation domain/URL and brand token.

What Should Online Pharmacy Brands Do About Their AI Visibility?

AI treats PharmEasy, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7 and NetMeds as close substitutes. PharmEasy and Tata 1mg appear together in 58.0% of answers where either appears, the strongest pair in the matrix, and Tata 1mg and NetMeds follow at 54.1%. TrueMeds sits further out, co-appearing with those four in 20.2% to 25.7% of answers, while Amazon Pharmacy and Wellness Forever are only loosely associated with the leaders.
Heatmap of co-mention association between eight Online Pharmacy brands. PharmEasy and Tata 1mg have the highest value at 58.0%.
Look at the dark upper-left block: the four largest brands are routinely compared with one another.

Co-mention Association % = responses where Brand A and Brand B appear together / responses where either Brand A or Brand B appears x 100.

AI has already picked its Online Pharmacy leaders, but not its most trusted brand.

According to GoVISIBLE's AI Visibility Index India 2026, the top five brands command 73.7% of visibility, while the strongest AI endorsement goes to TrueMeds, Amazon Pharmacy and Medstown, which hold just 6.8%, 3.3% and 1.2% Share of Voice.

Four brands form AI's default shortlist.

PharmEasy, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7 and NetMeds together hold 66.9% Share of Voice and co-appear in 41.3% to 58.0% of each other's answers.

Being compared alongside this group is the entry ticket to AI's consideration set. Appearing outside it means being evaluated against much weaker company.

→ Does our brand show up in answers next to these four, or on its own?

Reach and trust belong to different brands.

PharmEasy leads Share of Voice at 20.7% but trails TrueMeds on GEO Quality by 10.3pp (43.9% vs. 54.2%). NetMeds is further behind, 16.4pp below TrueMeds.

Visibility alone does not secure favorable AI language. The brands with the best representation have not yet converted it into reach.

→ Is our visibility backed by recommendation language we would be happy to see?

AI's trust is built on other people's websites.

Owned source influence averages 6.9%, and business sites plus eCommerce and aggregator sites supply 67.4% of citations. Tata 1mg and Apollo 24|7 earn only 2.0% of citations from their own domains.

Optimizing a brand's own site is necessary but far from sufficient. Presence on the pages AI already cites, including aggregators, regulator references and community discussion, shapes the answer.

→ Which third-party pages does AI cite when it describes us?

The friendliest engine is not the steadiest.

Copilot has the highest Engine Favorability at 55.9% but only 62.4% consistency. Google AI Mode is the most stable at 88.5% with a favorability of 42.3%.

A strong result on Copilot may not repeat run to run, while Google AI Mode offers a more dependable if less generous signal. Tracking should cover both tone and repeatability.

→ Are we measuring our AI presence on more than one run, and on more than one engine?

PharmEasy's lead cools as buyers near a decision.

PharmEasy wins all three journey stages on mention volume, but its GEO Quality drops from 59.5% at Awareness to 34.6% at Decision. Tata 1mg wins Safety & Authenticity, where the winner's quality is only 28.0%.

Late-stage and trust-related questions are where the category's AI language is weakest, which is the opening for any brand that can supply credible answers there.

→ What does AI say about us at the moment of purchase?

Small brands with strong quality signals are the open lane.

TiNova Health, Medshood and Medadock each hold 0.3% Share of Voice with GEO Quality between 54.5% and 83.3%. These scores rest on few mentions and should be read as directional.

For these brands the constraint is exposure. For larger brands, it signals how quickly a credible newcomer could gain favorable representation.

→ Are we investing in visibility where our quality already stands out?

What This Means

Brand posture Strategic label Question to ask
High visibility, high quality (PharmEasy, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24|7) Leaders Can we hold favorable, consistent recommendations through to the Decision stage?
Low visibility, high quality (TiNova Health, Medshood, Medadock) Niche Quality Where can we gain exposure without diluting what AI already values?
High visibility, weaker quality (NetMeds, MedPlus Mart, Wellness Forever) High Noise What is AI saying about us, and which sources is it drawing from?
Low visibility, low quality (Ayurkart, Zeelab Pharmacy) Laggards Which single use case can earn us a place in AI answers first?

Methodology: How the Online Pharmacy AI Visibility Index Was Measured

GoVISIBLE's AI Visibility Index India 2026 is based on analysis of 1.75 million AI answers, collected over 7 days, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Copilot and Perplexity. Findings reflect AI responses to use-case and intent-driven prompts specific to Online Pharmacy, not generic brand-awareness prompts, so a brand's standing here can differ from its position on a broad "top online pharmacies in India" prompt.
